About the event
Learn how to write with structure and style as we journey through U.S. History. Students will work through the Institute for Excellence in Writing's (IEW) units 1-4 as they learn to take notes in a key word outline, become familiar with MLA formatting, retell narrative stories, and summarize a reference. Students will learn about world explorers, the Pilgrims, colonization of the New World, The Boston Massacre, and the events and important figures that led to the American Revolution.
Vocabulary and grammar concepts will be included in this course. A formal grammar program will be introduced to each student.
Please note that this is the first semester of a year-long course.
