About the event
Learn how to write with structure and style as we journey through U.S. History. Students will work through the Institute for Excellence in Writing's (IEW) units 1-4 this semester. Students will learn how to take notes, create outlines, write from notes, retell narrative stories, and summarize a reference.
Vocabulary and grammar concepts will be included in this course.
Please note that this is the first semester of a year-long course.
***Parents are responsible for purchasing the U.S. History-Based Writing Lessons Student book (2nd edition, November 2019) prior to the first day of class (https://iew.com/shop/products/us-history-based-writing-lessons-student-book-only), as well as either purchasing or printing out the Student Resource Notebook from IEW.
Fall Semester Mandatory Literature - Students will read ONE of the following novels:
Benjamin West and His Cat Grimalkin (Marguerite Henry)
