About the event

Learn how to write with structure and style as we travel back in time through U.S. History. Students will work through the Institute for Excellence in Writing's (IEW) units 5-9 as they learn to take notes, summarize references, write from pictures, complete research papers, participate in creative / inventive writing, and literature critiques. This course is an excellent class for students in grades 6-8, or returning IEW students who are ready for more of a challenge. Vocabulary, grammar elements, and a research paper will all be included in this course.

Please note that this is the second semester of a year-long course.  If your student does not have prior IEW experience, please contact me at uscharleys07@gmail.com prior to registering for this course.

***Parents are responsible for purchasing the U.S. History-Based Writing Lessons Student book (2nd edition, November 2019) prior to the first day of class (https://iew.com/shop/products/us-history-based-writing-lessons-student-book-only), as well as either purchasing or printing out the Student Resource Notebook from IEW.

March 4, 11, 18, 25
