About the event

This semester we will travel back in time to the Medieval period.  Students will work through the Institute for Excellence in Writing's (IEW) units 5-9 as they will be writing from pictures, summarizing multiple references, participating in inventive writing, completing a critique, and completing and presenting a formal research paper.

Vocabulary and grammar concepts will be included in this course.

Please note that this is the second semester of a year-long course. No new students will be added unless they have prior IEW experience.

***Parents are responsible for purchasing the Medieval History-Based Writing Lessons Student book (5th edition, January 2019) prior to the first day of class (https://iew.com/medieval-history-based-writing-lessons-student-book-only), as well as either purchasing or printing out the Student Resource Notebook from IEW.

Spring Semester Mandatory Literature - Students will read ONE of the following novels that they have not already read:

The Door in the Wall (Marguerite de Angeli)
