About the event
This semester we will travel back in time to the Medieval period. Students will work through the Institute for Excellence in Writing's (IEW) units 1-4 as they learn how to take notes and write outlines, write from notes, retell narrative stories, and summarize a reference.
Vocabulary and grammar concepts will be included in this course.
Please note that this is the first semester of a year-long course.
***Parents are responsible for purchasing the Medieval History-Based Writing Lessons Student book (5th edition, January 2019) prior to the first day of class (https://iew.com/medieval-history-based-writing-lessons-student-book-only), as well as either purchasing or printing out the IEW Student Resource Notebook (teacher provided).
Spring Semester Mandatory Literature - Students will read ONE of the following novels that they have not already read:
The Door in the Wall (Marguerite de Angeli)
