About the event
Learn how to write with structure and style as we get to know the workers who keep a community running smoothly—from firefighters and police officers to road crews and rescue workers.. Students will work through the Institute for Excellence in Writing's (IEW) units 3-7 as they learn to complete key word outlines, write stories, summarize a reference, write from pictures, and participate in inventive writing. This course is an excellent first introduction to the IEW method of writing and suits students in grades 2-4. Students in grade 1 who are writing complete sentences / paragraphs may also benefit from this class.
Light vocabulary and grammar will be included in this course. Please note that this is the second semester of a year-long course.
