About the event

Using the first three novels of The Chronicles of Narnia® (The Magician's Nephew, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and The Horse and His Boy), these lessons beckon students to experience the enchanted land of Narnia through the Structure and Style® writing method.  Students will work through the Institute for Excellence in Writing's (IEW) units 1-4 as they learn to complete key word outlines, take notes, complete stories, and summarize references.  This course is an excellent class for students in grades 7-8, or returning IEW students who are ready for a challenge.  Please note that there are some religious elements in this textbook, so charter schools may not be willing to pay for this course.

Vocabulary and grammar will be included in this course.

Please note that this is the first semester of a year-long course.  If your student does not have prior IEW experience, please contact me at uscharleys07@gmail.com prior to registering.  Only advanced writers or those who have experience with the IEW method of writing will be able to register.

***Parents are responsible for purchasing the Following Narnia Volume 1:  The Lion's Song Student book (3rd edition, January 2016) prior to the first day of class (https://iew.com/shop/products/following-narnia®-volume-1-lions-song-student-book-only), as well as either purchasing or printing out the Student Resource Notebook from IEW.  Students will also need to obtain copies of the following books:

The Magician's Nephew (C.S. Lewis)

The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (C.S. Lewis)

The Horse and His Boy (C.S. Lewis)
