About the event
Learn how to write with structure and style. Students will work through the Institute for Excellence in Writing's (IEW) units 1-9 as they learn to take notes, retell narrative stories, summarize references, write from pictures, and compose their own research papers. Students will soar through the ancient civilizations of Sumer, Egypt, Israel, Babylon, Greece, Rome, Asia Minor, and Asia.
Best recommended for students in grades 5-7. Vocabulary and grammar concepts will be introduced. Discover the wonders of the ancient world by learning to write with structure and style! Please note that this is the first semester of a year-long course.
******Parents are responsible for purchasing the Ancient History-Based Writing Student book prior to the first day of class (https://iew.com/shop/products/ancient-history-based-writing-lessons-student-book-only), as well as either purchasing or printing out the Student Resource Notebook from IEW.
The assigned literature component for the fall semester is The Golden Goblet by Eloise Jarvis McGraw.
